Matta Fast Food Corner is a vegetarian fast food joint located in Ashok Nagar, Chennai. The restaurant serves North Indian and fast food. It starts at 12 in the noon and closes at 11 in the night. The restaurant provides space only for almost four to five tables inside, where comes the best part(for me) of it, the rest can sit on the pavement with plastic stools they provide.

Sitting on the road side while having a plateful of hot Fried Rice or Noodles along with a spicy side dish is a bliss. Some likes this kinda experience while others ask for take-away. The humongous amount of Main and Side dishes they provide without compensating with the quality of the food is one among the reasons for the crowd on weekends. An average person feels so heavy on eating a single plate of their food. 

But not only because of the quantity they've got that crowd, it is also because of the taste and quality of the food. Especially spice-lovers might fall in love with their Schezwan variants. And most important thing is that the price for the food they serve is pretty nominal. Once you eat something from there, you will feel that you haven't paid too much or too less. Every item on the menu is priced within Rs.90. The ambience is not that great and as said earlier you might wanna sit on the pavement. So do not set up your expectations so high for seating, interior designs and ambience. The service is pretty good, they serve everything so hot that it feels like it is served straight from the pan.

And there's another menu which has all the special items listed on it. But my personal opinion is not spending extra penny on the fancy names. The specials have much more rich masala and flavoring. It is quite good, but I might prefer the regular menu. If you are willing to go for something different it's up to you.

The most wanted dish in the kitchen is Chili Vegetable Fry or popularly known as the Vegetable Balls. Regular customers never miss out this item. I have been a fan for this since childhood. As the name suggests these are just balls made of vegetables and the specialty of this is the perfect contrast of crispness outside and softness inside. The outside has the tasty Schezwan flavour and the inside is a bland mixture of vegetables. These balls are served on a plate full of Schezwan flavoured onions, green chilly and capsicum which are sautéd along with those balls. The price you pay for this amazing food is just Rs.80, which you will feel definitely it's worth it.

Wanna have something filling, hot, spicy  and cost efficient, this is the right destination for you. If you are hanging out with vegetarians friends and wanna try something interesting, head towards Matta.
